For over forty years, we have been repairing shoes, resoling, replacing heels, restoring leather footwear, and performing artisanal work. Each pair of shoes is carefully evaluated to find the most suitable solution, preserving its structure, comfort, and original characteristics.

The Origins: The Craft Learned to Perfection

It all began in 1984, when founder Michele Caruso took his first steps in Apricena, learning the secrets of the trade from an ancient master shoemaker. It was in that year that Michele created one of his first artisanal masterpieces: the Panttera.

What is the Panttera? It's not a modern invention, but a pillar of the Gargano's rural culture. For centuries, it was the inseparable companion of shepherds and farmers in Sannicandro Garganico, a bag born out of necessity and designed to be indestructible. Michele chose to honor this historical legacy, continuing to produce it today with the same traditional techniques, transforming an ancient work tool into a timeless icon of artisanal style.

1997: The First Caruso Workshop Opens

After years of dedication and perfecting his craft, in 1997 Michele opened his first workshop to the public on Via Antonio Gramsci. Here, the precision of his repairs and the quality of his handmade creations quickly earned him an excellent reputation: in town, the name Caruso became synonymous with honesty, precision, and trust.

Evolution and the Future: Between Tradition and Innovation

Today, the workshop has moved to its new premises in Seconda Via Boschetto. To offer ever-improving services, Michele has integrated manual experience with renowned machinery in the sector, ensuring excellent repairs and even more refined handcrafted products.

But the most precious resource remains family: with the patience and passion that distinguish him, Michele has passed on the art and love for leather to his children, who today work alongside him, carrying on the name of Caruso Calzolaio throughout Italy.
